kathaṁ na jñeyam asmābhiḥ pāpād asmān nivartitum
kula-kṣhaya-kṛitaṁ doṣhaṁ prapaśhyadbhir janārdana||39||

Meaning : Even though these people, with their minds overpowered by greed, do not see the wrong in destroying families or the sin in betraying friends,O Janardana, why shouldn’t we, who clearly see the evil in family destruction, learn to turn away from this sinful act?

Chapter 1: Arjun Viṣhād Yog(1.36-1.37)

Chapter : 1

sva-janaṁ hi kathaṁ hatvā sukhinaḥ syāma mādhava||37||

Meaning : What joy would we gain, O Janardana (Krishna), by killing the sons of Dhritarashtra? Killing these aggressors would only make us sinners.
Therefore, we should not kill the sons of Dhritarashtra along with their family and friends. How could we ever be happy after killing our own people, O Madhava?

Meaning : There are teachers, fathers, sons, grandfathers, maternal uncles, brothers-in-law, grandsons, and other relatives here.

ta ime ’vasthitā yuddhe prāṇāṁs tyaktvā dhanāni cha||33||

Meaning : I do not desire victory, O Krishna, nor kingdom, nor pleasures.
What good will kingdom, pleasures, or life be to us, O Govinda,
when those for whose sake we desire these things are standing here, ready to give up their lives and wealth in battle?

Meaning : My body trembles, the hair on my skin stands on end, the mighty bow Gandiva slips from my hand, and my skin feels like it is burning.
I am unable to stand firm, and my mind is confused and wandering.
I see only unfavorable omens, O Keshava (Krishna), and I do not see any good in killing my own relatives in battle.
