asau mayā hataḥ śhatrur haniṣhye chāparān api
īśhvaro ’ham ahaṁ bhogī siddho ’haṁ balavān sukhī||14||
Meaning : That enemy has been killed by me, and I will kill others too. I am the lord, the enjoyer of pleasures, accomplished, powerful, and happy.

Meaning : Today, I have acquired this wealth, and I am confident that I will achieve all my desired goals. This wealth is already mine now, and I believe that even more riches will come to me repeatedly in the future. This mindset reflects strong attachment to material possessions and a firm belief in continuous accumulation of wealth.
āśhā-pāśha-śhatair baddhāḥ kāma-krodha-parāyaṇāḥ
īhante kāma-bhogārtham anyāyenārtha-sañchayān||12||
Meaning : Those who are bound by countless desires and are addicted to lust and anger seek to enjoy sensual pleasures and accumulate wealth through unjust means.
chintām aparimeyāṁ cha pralayāntām upāśhritāḥ
kāmopabhoga-paramā etāvad iti niśhchitāḥ||11||
Meaning : Those who are overwhelmed by endless anxieties and who, especially at the time of death, take refuge only in sensual pleasures — they are firmly fixed on just this limited goal.
kāmam āśhritya duṣhpūraṁ dambha-māna-madānvitāḥ
mohād gṛihītvāsad-grāhān pravartante ’śhuchi-vratāḥ||10||
Meaning : Those who depend on desire and wicked passions, who are filled with hypocrisy, pride, and arrogance, and who are intoxicated by delusion, follow impure paths and ultimately move toward suffering and lower states of existence.
etāṁ dṛiṣhṭim avaṣhṭabhya naṣhṭātmāno ’lpa-buddhayaḥ
prabhavanty ugra-karmāṇaḥ kṣhayāya jagato ’hitāḥ||9||
Meaning : Those of little intelligence, who have lost their true self, reject this understanding and perform violent and cruel actions, which ultimately lead to the destruction and harm of the world.
asatyam apratiṣhṭhaṁ te jagad āhur anīśhvaram
aparaspara-sambhūtaṁ kim anyat kāma-haitukam||8||
Meaning : They say that the world is unreal and without any foundation, without any supreme controller or God. They believe it came into existence by random interactions alone and nothing else — driven purely by desire and selfish motives.
pravṛittiṁ cha nivṛittiṁ cha janā na vidur āsurāḥ
na śhauchaṁ nāpi chāchāro na satyaṁ teṣhu vidyate||7||
Meaning : Those with a demonic nature neither understand the proper way to act nor to renounce action. They have no cleanliness, good conduct, or truth within them.
dvau bhūta-sargau loke ’smin daiva āsura eva cha
daivo vistaraśhaḥ prokta āsuraṁ pārtha me śhṛiṇu||6||
Meaning : O Arjuna, in this world there are two types of beings — divine and demonic. I have explained to you in detail the divine and demonic qualities. Listen carefully.
daivī sampad vimokṣhāya nibandhāyāsurī matā
mā śhuchaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm abhijāto ’si pāṇḍava||5||
Meaning : Divine qualities lead to liberation and freedom, while demonic qualities lead to bondage and suffering. Do not grieve, O Arjuna; you are born with divine qualities.
