yo mām evam asammūḍho jānāti puruṣhottamam
sa sarva-vid bhajati māṁ sarva-bhāvena bhārata|| 19||
iti guhyatamaṁ śhāstram idam uktaṁ mayānagha
etad buddhvā buddhimān syāt kṛita-kṛityaśh cha bhārata|| 20||

My Understanding : Whoever recognizes me in every being, and sees the Purushottama (Supreme Divine) within themselves and in all things, will experience true happiness.

uttamaḥ puruṣhas tv anyaḥ paramātmety udāhṛitaḥ
yo loka-trayam āviśhya bibharty avyaya īśhvaraḥ  || 17||
yasmāt kṣharam atīto ’ham akṣharād api chottamaḥ
ato ’smi loke vede cha prathitaḥ puruṣhottamaḥ || 18||

My Understanding : Bhagavan Krishna resides behind the souls, guiding and overseeing all that happens. He is the ultimate reason for everything. “I am the perishable world and the imperishable soul.”

dvāv imau puruṣhau loke kṣharaśh chākṣhara eva cha
kṣharaḥ sarvāṇi bhūtāni kūṭa-stho ’kṣhara uchyate || 16||

My Understanding : All humans may feel that they are the cause of their actions, but in reality, everything in creation unfolds according to the plan of Krishna Bhagavan. Krishna is the Sutradari (director) of the entire cosmic play.

sarvasya chāhaṁ hṛidi sanniviṣhṭo
mattaḥ smṛitir jñānam apohanaṁ cha
vedaiśh cha sarvair aham eva vedyo
vedānta-kṛid veda-vid eva chāham || 15||

My Understanding : Krishna says, “I am the reason for all your memories, forgetfulness, and knowledge. I am the Veda within you.”

ahaṁ vaiśhvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṁ deham āśhritaḥ
prāṇāpāna-samāyuktaḥ pachāmy annaṁ chatur-vidham || 14||

My Understanding : All the food we consume is digested with the help of Agni (fire). Krishna says, “I am the Vaishvanara within you,” which means, “I am the fire that resides in you.”

gām āviśhya cha bhūtāni dhārayāmy aham ojasā
puṣhṇāmi chauṣhadhīḥ sarvāḥ somo bhūtvā rasātmakaḥ || 13 ||

My Understanding : Sthiti (Earth) is the mother, and Surya (the Sun) is the father. Just as the earth is real to the human, the physical substance is real to the Sun. Each small atom has a center, and similarly, the Earth has a center, along with a wisdom center. Earth, me, pragnya (awareness), and Vedam (knowledge) are interconnected. The geometrical center of the Earth, me, Krishna, and Bhumi (the Earth), along with the Sun’s rays, form this connection. The Sun himself allows light to reach the Earth, and the rays touching the Earth create a direct connection. Through the union of these two pragnya (awarenesses), Omkaram (the sound of creation) manifests. Thus, human birth is intrinsically linked to Omkaram. The connection between the Sun and the Earth through the rays holds the reason for many births on Earth, whether human or animal. Rasa Swaroopamu (the essence of taste): All beings require sustenance to survive. We experience the taste of food, which is digested and converted into liquid form. This liquid provides the energy and power for the body to sustain itself. Rasa-Somudu (the essence of Soma) and Graha Deva (the planetary deity for beings) is Indra. Wisdom flows to humans with the help of Indra. Soma, the celestial nectar, grants wisdom, which is distributed to beings through the influence of Chandra (the Moon). Chandra is also the deity overseeing reproduction.

yad āditya-gataṁ tejo jagad bhāsayate ’khilam
yach chandramasi yach chāgnau tat tejo viddhi māmakam || 12 ||

My Understanding : When he looks within himself, he will realize his true power. He will understand that it is the soul that sustains the body. He should recognize that the brightness of the fire and the radiance of the moon are manifestations of his own essence.

yatanto yoginaśh chainaṁ paśhyanty ātmany avasthitam
yatanto ‘py akṛitātmāno nainaṁ paśhyanty achetasaḥ || 11 ||

My Understanding : You should strive to apply these teachings in your life; this will be the first step in your sadhana. Always remember that the soul resides within your body.

utkrāmantaṁ sthitaṁ vāpi bhuñjānaṁ vā guṇānvitam
vimūḍhā nānupaśhyanti paśhyanti jñāna-chakṣhuṣhaḥ || 10 ||

My Understanding : The soul carries the mind, senses, and all experiences, so humans often feel that they are the ones performing actions. However, the truth is that all these actions are actually the soul’s doing. If a person realizes that all actions are carried out by the soul and that, upon death, nothing will be carried forward, they will understand the true nature of their existence. This realization is essential for growth.

śharīraṁ yad avāpnoti yach chāpy utkrāmatīśhvaraḥ
gṛihītvaitāni sanyāti vāyur gandhān ivāśhayāt|| 8 ||

My Understanding : The soul is Eeswara. When the body dies, the soul moves on to another body. The soul experiences the joys, sorrows, sensations, and mental states of the body it inhabits. As the soul transfers from one body to the next, it carries with it the experiences and impressions from the previous life, continuing the cycle of happiness, sorrow, and perception.
