arjuna uvācha
ye śhāstra-vidhim utsṛijya yajante śhraddhayānvitāḥ
teṣhāṁ niṣhṭhā tu kā kṛiṣhṇa sattvam āho rajas tamaḥ||1||

Meaning : O Krishna, what is the condition of those who worship with faith but ignore the rules of the scriptures? Is their nature governed by goodness (sattva), passion (rajas), or ignorance (tamas)?
