śhrī bhagavān uvācha
akṣharaṁ brahma paramaṁ svabhāvo ’dhyātmam uchyate
bhūta-bhāvodbhava-karo visargaḥ karma-sanjñitaḥ||3||

Meaning : Sri Krishna said:
The imperishable Supreme Reality is called Brahman.
One’s individual nature (svabhāva) is called Adhyatma (the Self).
The creation of beings, arising from the causes of material existence, is known as karma or action.
