yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata
abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṁ sṛijāmyaham||7||

Meaning : Whenever the world loses its moral balance and evil rises, He incarnates to restore order and protect dharma (righteousness).
