tasmād yasya mahā-bāho nigṛihītāni sarvaśhaḥ
indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyas tasya prajñā pratiṣhṭhitā|| 68||

My Understanding : It is only possible to control the mind through the senses, but it is never possible to control the senses directly.
